As I am a big fan of Google chrome and I use it DAILY at work and at home, I was happy when Google pronounced last summer that they are developing an operating system based on Google chrome, so through my magazine I just came across this news

The big reveal at Google’s I/O conference was the first generation of Chrome-books.

The first two machines to use Chrome will be the Samsung 5 Series and Acer’s Chrome-book.

“The first two machines to rock Chrome as their OS will be available for preorder on June 15.”

Google’s I/O conference was this week, and the company had lots to show off. While the Android continues to challenge Apple’s dominance in the mobile and now tablet markets, the big reveal was the first generation of Chrome-books. Google’s Chrome operating system (we won’t cover it here, but basically, it’s a fully web-based OS without local programs) has seen some delays but is finally ready for prime time. Shopping for a new computer will soon mean the choice between Windows, Mac OS and Chrome for your operating system. The first two machines to rock Chrome as their OS will be available for preorder on June 15, so take a look at what’s on offer.
