As i have been CRAZY about this painful Martial ART , and it became a worldwide fashion to either work out for MMA or watch MMA , I guess people should see what i have been up to in Sao Paulo
Since I moved to Brasil and suddenly I became fascinated with Learning something new. Beside the new language , I suddenly found myself reading 10 times more in philosophy and politics, also my hunger for a different workout routine and something more challenging led me to Aikido and May Thai. Today I got myself the First Aikido Kimono . U never had one before. More and more I am becoming fascinated by the precision and details this Art has.
Aikido is defined as The Art of Peace or the translation if the word is “the Way of unifying (with) life energy, after the 1 &1/2 hour class I always sit and talk to my (Sensei) and hammer him with questions , why this why that, why not this…ect , a chance for me to practice Portuguese and also to know more about Aikido.
This Art started by Morihei Ueshiba , as my teacher said that, Aikido was at the same era of Karate and Kung-fu. While people started reaching a hi level of Martial Art ability or power, some have used this to actually harm others, it kind of made them go Evil as they have this POWER. So this man (Morihei Ueshiba ) wanted to teach people something that puts down this ego they have , so Aikido was the result. It’s the Art that has no Attack techniques . its al about How to defend yourself by redirecting your enemy`s energy and save yourself as well as not Harming the attacker. That fact made me feel so happy
Its is really really and amazing art
Its been like 3 weeks now and i have been going on a daily base to a Muay Thai School in Brazil. i have slowly developed some huge admiration to this Martial Art after i have reached a satisfaction level from functional training and Weight lifting .
The word muay derives from the Sanskrit mavya which means “to bind together”. Muay thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs” or the “Science of Eight Limbs” because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of contact”, as opposed to “two points” (fists) in boxing and “four points” (hands and feet) used in other more regulated combat sports, such as kickboxing, boxing, and savate. A practitioner of muay thai is known as a nak muay. Western practitioners are sometimes called nak muay farang, meaning “foreign boxer.
Like most competitive full contact fighting sports, muay thai has a heavy focus on body conditioning. Muay thai is specifically designed to promote the level of fitness and toughness required for ring competition. Training regimens include many staples of combat sport conditioning such as running, shadowboxing, rope jumping, body weight resistance exercises, medicine ball exercises, abdominal exercises, and in some cases weight training. Muay thai fighters rely heavily on kicks utilizing the shin bone. As such, practitioners of muay thai will repeatedly hit hard objects with their shins, conditioning it, hardening the bone through a process called cortical remodeling. Muay thai practitioners typically apply Namman Muay muay thai liniment liberally before and after their intense training sessions.
I stumbled upon this info on the “q8redflag Blog” looks like the place is a competitor for the Core fitness
I am going to take a look at it because i am in desperate need find a gym that is either close to work or home ,i wish I can join Cornish but it’s just unjustified to pay 3000 $ for a gym . So the best thing is to get in to those new small ones hoping they can let me get my own Personal Trainer with me. Coz i just don’t trust any of those “wana be instructors “
On Friday me and the Mrs got an invitation from a friend to join the BODY COMBAT class in the marina hotel “outdoor area “. That was really amazing, i burned 1,540 calories and my heart rate reached 102%
